History

The house in Pražská Street No. 107, where the guest house is located, is part of the city's monument zone. It is located close to the square in the historic center. It is a building of Baroque origin, probably founded during the reconstruction of the city after its catastrophic devastation during the Thirty Years' War. Some original building elements from this period have been preserved to this day, such as the glazing of part of the ground floor and the spiral staircase to the floor of the main building.The first preserved document about the house is a protocol from 1872 discussing the restoration of the truss and gable wall. Other interesting documents relate to significant building modifications that were carried out in the early 20th century. One of them is the original design of the Art Nouveau facade, evidenced by a drawing from 1909, modified and realized after 1918.The lion with the butcher's width in the house sign reminds us that the house once operated a butcher's and sausage trade.
